So you fashion savvy peeps out there will probably laugh at me but, Im pissed off! I went to Target today with my daughter to buy a Christmas gift for my youngest son. Got his gift, great, heading out. We spotted a really cute sweater and it was 40% off so it would have been $13.79. She actually needed a new sweater so I decided to get it for her. Well, of course I didnt realize it didnt ring up for the sale price because I cant see as Im sitting below the counter level and cant see anything in the electric carts they have. So, as Im leaving an associate tells me to park the cart by the door and leave it there. I said to her that I cant, I dont walk well and dont have my walker, my daughter brought the cart to me and I rode it into the store, shed be bringing it back. The lady says oh no, no, no, you cant do that, you have to leave it by the door. I said, Im sorry, but I dont walk, I CANT. She says, well you have to. This is when I get a bit uppity, but kept my calm. I again explained to her that I cannot walk unassisted and have no assistance so I will NEED to bring the cart to my jeep. She says, well Ill have someone follow you out but you cant do this again. I kept my calm and thanked her for having someone follow me, but also proceeded to advise her that my daughter is quite adept at driving the carts as she has been doing so for well over a year now and does it each time we go out to shop. I also asked how I was to continue to shop at Target if I was unable to get into the store as I cannot transport my own wheelchair and I cannot put my walker in the cart etc. She says, and I quote Well, Im sorry you cant shop here anymore but thats our policy . Okay, fine....No more shopping at Target, got it. Get home and go over the receipt as Im tucking away the Christmas gift from sight and low and behold I find that I paid full price for Kaitlyns new sweater!!! So, I immediately call them. I give them the 9 digit number they asked for, directly from my receipt, and they tell me this item is not on sale. I was quite taken aback, I said are you sure? It was displayed with other sweaters and the sign stating %40 off was directly above the display of the one we chose. She says, let me get you to customer service. She transfers me, the next person has the exact conversation with me, they transfer me to a store manager who tells me that I should have known the difference between a blazer and a sweater. Well excuse me, it looks like a damn sweater to me and is on the rack that says 40% off sweaters, why are you displaying clothing that can obviously easily be misconstrued for a sale item when according to you it is not on sale. I told him plainly that I would not have purchased the item had I known it was not on sale. He apologizes but tells me he will not be crediting me the 40% difference but I can feel free to come back to the store to return it. Hmm, really? and how am I going to do that when I cant get INTO your store???? Im so flipping mad right now its unbelievable. So okay, I dont know the difference between a blazer and a sweater...how is it MY problem the store misleads people with their signage and display of clothing? Anyone else ever have this problem and maybe can help me determine the best way to have it resolved without returning the item because #1 I never want to go to that store again, especially since I would have to sit in the parking lot to do it. And #2 my daughter is now in love with this sweater and it would break her heart if I had to give it back. I believe Target should uphold the sale price because it is THEIR misleading display and placed sale signs!! Ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions??
