So you put a wheel chair up for sale on Gum Tree , man emails and says he would like to buy, Price is agreed and payment to be made by Pay Pal.. all good so far? I send a PayPal Invoice..... still good.... now the fun begins? Purchaser tells me he has paid..... but not the agreed price oh no he has paid me an extra £200 to cover delivery costs to a shipping company, now to be honest i think £200.00 for delivering a wheelchair from Sutton to Thornton Heath seems a bit steep? I then receive two emails allegedly from pay pal giving me further instructions but they do not make sense. Then I receive an email from a Shipping Company called " Shipping Company " requesting £200.00 be sent Via Western Union to someone in Nigeria !!... now come on do they think I am stupid!! So I have been scammed but luckily I was not fooled and have reported to PayPal who have been inundated with scams like this. SO BE WARNED!! even putting an innocent ad on to Gumtree can end up with some tosser trying to rip you off! I have forwarded all the scam emails to Pay Pals fraud department.
