Soca artiste to appear in court for physically assaulting a woman (By Rhondor Dowlat) A POPULAR soca artiste is expected to appear before a Port-of-Spain magistrate today charged with assaulting his common law wife. According to a report, on Friday the artiste and the woman argued over the man’s alleged non-payment of child maintenance. The argument escalated into a fight and where the woman was badly beaten. The woman subsequently lodged a report to the Belmont Police Station. The artiste was detained, questioned and eventually charged for the offence and was granted his own bail of $1,000 by a Justice of the Peace on Saturday morning.
