Social Media is a unique public environment that has its own - TopicsExpress

Social Media is a unique public environment that has its own culture and expectations. People post things they like and do not like on theirs and others walls to share them with their friends or a select group. “Liking” and comment on these things serves to further this process. A respectful person does not delete a respectful comment because they do not agree with it or they are worried what their other friends will think. If we all thought the same way and shared all the same experiences, we would be a world of clones and the world would be a very boring place. This disrespect only serves to aggravate the commenter, who sometimes has spent half an hour sharing a respectful opinion because they had something to say. If the stress of comments is too much for you then perhaps posting on a Social Network is not for you and you would be better served by a closed comment blog. Some feel this behaviour will bring into question your integrity, as others will wonder where that comment went and why you felt the need to be so intolerant to the point of feeling the need to remove it. Be THANKFUL we have our differences. The alternative is to be a CLONE. Steve Taylor puts it in black and white in the video below. #Respect #IDontWantToBeACLone **DISCLAIMER: If you have recently said to me “Thank you for your thoughts“ you were respectful, you clearly understand social networking, this post is not directed at you, and the timing of this post is merely a coincidence :) ***
