Social Security System (SSS) members can transact at SSS branches - TopicsExpress

Social Security System (SSS) members can transact at SSS branches all over the country every Saturday, starting on October 26, 2013, as part of the agencys thrust to make SSS services more accessible to its membership. THIS IS ANOTHER SAD DAY FOR SSS EMPLOYEES AND MEMBERS. The SSS does not seem to know what ails it. Members never asked and do not need more time to access SSS; they need faster action on the applications that they have already submitted to SSS. The bottleneck is not at the point of contact or at the counters - it is INSIDE SSS. SSS should instead be closed for a month, or maybe 6 months, so it could clear out its PENDING work. Meantime, it should NOT accept additional work. The President while voting in the barangay election in Tarlac was approached by an old man, not for money or work, but for help to have his pending SSS application approved. Shameful. DZRHs Ruth Abao added more insult: The old man was a lucky man compared to the 100 applicants who seek daily the radio station for help on their SSS applications. Enough of empty PR work; this would only increase the pending work of SSS. More inputs could only be addressed through higher throughput - hire more people, simplify systems and procedures, and make computerization work.
