Solar activity continues to be fairly active. The movie below - TopicsExpress

Solar activity continues to be fairly active. The movie below is a 24 hour loop that shows several bright flashes during the period, indicating significant flare activity. Several C-class, a few M-class, and one X-class flare occurred during the period, with the majority of the flare activity originating from Region 2087. Regions 2080 and 2089 both produced a few low levels flares throughout the period as well. At this point, forecasters are only expecting a glancing blow, at most, from the CMEs associated with the first M-flare as well as the X-flare. We are awaiting imagery to fill in to do an analysis on any associated CME from the second M-class flare. Stay tuned here for information on these events or additional space weather as it happens.
