Soldier killed, another injured in north Kashmir encounter Srinagar, Oct 13 (UNI) A soldier was killed and another wounded when militants attacked a patrol party in the frontier district of Kupwara, a Defence ministry spokesman said. Lt Colonel N N Joshi told UNI that militants attacked a patrol party at Zachaldara in the north Kashmir district of Kupwara, resulting in injuries to two soldiers. The injured were immediately shifted to hospital where one of them succumbed. More reinforcement was rushed to the area and cordon was further tightened, he said, adding that a massive hunt has been launched to arrest the militants.
