Some 3 weeks ago I finally soaked my big ginger root, cut it in 5 pieces, then planted it in an oblong galvanized container from Lowes. My husband drilled holes in the bottom before hand. Ive been checking every day or two, well twice a day, & finally have a shoot peeking out of the potting mix. :-) I dont know how long it will be before I can harvest my crop, but might make the great looking carrot soup I just shared. Ill let yall know how long it takes from start to finish.
