Those living near and directly the vibrations of traffic and the pollution will have an increased negative impact on these homes. Just with the current 2 lane it is near impossible to keep them maintained. A 4 lane environment is extremely destructive to fragile historical homes and buildings. 4 lane will cause the property values to plummet all over town. Because if it drops in the historical district so does property values all over Eufaula and in the county. The homes in the historical district receives no aid from the state to maintain or restore. It will not be long many of the homes on N. Eufaula will look like the green boarded up house on N. Eufaula Ave. Empty boarded up historical homes and buildings DO NOT attract new industry and business to a town. What it DOES DO is stop new people from moving into Eufaula and will cause many more people to leave Eufaula. Take another look at these beautiful homes.... this is what Eufaula is known for... today... but, not tomorrow... if ALDOT 4 Lanes!
