Some bonds can never be broken, no matter what. And some loves are stronger than will ever be realized. I noticed a man in Walgreens this past week. I heard Christmas music and turned around to see him holding a wind up Christmas decoration. Now this man didnt look like the type to be handling something so pretty and delicate. He was a big, towering, old and gruff looking man with a full gray beard. It wasnt long before he moved on to another ornament. It was obvious he was in a moment of remembrance of a sentimental and precious time past. Was it of the beautiful bride hed shared so many years with, or a child he missed? Only heaven knows. After a few more moments he slowly turned and walked away with his head held low, leaving me to wonder what precious, cherished memories that weathered and seasoned old mind held so dearly. Under that gruff exterior was a very sentimental, tender and beautiful heart.
