Some children will mindlessly try to please their parents and impress their friends by killing animals. But, even a child that is truly born compassionate will not do so to please even their parents. I know, I was one of those children who refused to kill an innocent animal that was doing me no harm. I used to get plenty of spankings for disobedient behavior starting from a toddler of one or two years of age. Not just from my family but also from school teachers. I would refuse to do what I believed in my heart was wrong. My values were different from the start and seem to have been born into me. Of course, I have had to pay the price in more ways than one. It isnt easy to go against others will. However, if you dont, eventually they will kill you because you cannot endlessly compromise your own truth without suffering a different consequence, your health.
