Some comments are hilarious. Trying to compare the USA and Switzerland, when the USA should be compared to african countries where armed militias own the power. Most of Swiss guns are from the government itself, owned by citizens serving as military reserves. If the guns in the US were mostly owned by people serving in the National Guard, and not by what in any other country would be considered warlords and crime militias, things might be different, and some regular citizens would not feel the need to own guns themselves. I may be wrong about it, but I think most guns belong to criminals and those who wish to defend themselves from criminals (preppers included). Note: This is not statistics - this is raw data. And I believe there might be more innacuracy in wars death toll (before the 20th century) than in present day records.
