Some exciting news: A simple truth...in order to take a beautiful photograph, you have to connect with your subject. There has to be trust. When I look back on 25 years of work, my best images are those in which the bond is obvious. Fortunately for me, your children have been easy to love. So before I go on, I want to thank you for allowing me into your lives and letting me forge this bond. Many of you have become much more than clients...you’ve become part of my life and people I consider friends. I’ve been honored to be there for the babies, the growth, the celebrations, the challenges and in some cases even the last few days. I’ve gotten to be a part of the next generation of families...my “babies” have started having babies of their own. These relationships have been treasured gifts, and I am grateful. I’m writing to announce a welcome transition, my first full business partner. Many of you have met Elise Zable, an extremely gifted photographer who has blessed my life the last few years not only with her talent, but with her loving spirit, work ethic, flexibility and open heart. At a time when I am raising teenagers and need to be present at home more, she is always willing to step in to do what is needed...and do it well. Her style is nearly identical to mine, in most cases imperceptively so. Most essential, she has the ability to connect and forge the same bonds and earn the trust of her subjects, your kids. About 20 years ago, she was on the other side of my camera as a beautiful seven-year-old. The friendship I established with Elise and her lovely family lasted, and years later when she became an incredibly talented photographer, she contacted me.
