Hi Phil, do you mind if I call you Phil? Hope you are both well. I would like to write to you to express my horror at the escalation of the crisis (yet again) between Israel and Palestine. I would like the UK government, who I believe should be representing the best interests of myself and the rest of the world, to increase its humanitarian aid to those suffering on either side of the fighting in the Gaza Strip, West Bank and Israel. Should this not be possible for you or the rest of the cabinet to ensure, I expect a full and detailed response as to why we cant do more to push for a peaceful ceasefire in the Middle East, (this response should not include anything to do with previous UK governments - I get bored when you blame each other). If you feel you need to regale me with 1000 years of history as to why we cant send more peacekeepers and aid to the region in question, then please go ahead. Please look out for my future correspondence regarding UK involvement in the international arms trade, our Trident missile programme, and the need to reduce (globally) the number of chemical agents being produced to kill other human beings.
