Some here will remember that the father of modern gospel music multiple Grammy winner Andre Crouch actually peformed with his band downtown on 3rd St at the Assembly of God Church around 1970. Andre Crouch died on Thursday. His influence was on the scale of Martin Luther music-wise. Kind of hard to believe that little downtown Mac church hosted such a famed composer/performer.
