Some more music from Finland that Nightwish fans may enjoy: Battlelore, a band whose songs are almost entirely based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien (the author of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings); but also write songs based on medieval times and epics such as the Kalevala. Their onstage costumes also pay homage to Middle-Earth; with the women dressed like Elvish princesses, and the men are garbed in the fashion of Orc-warriors. Many bands throughout the history of metal (including Nightwish) have paid tribute to Tolkiens work in one way or another, but Battlelore goes the extra mile and makes Tolkien the center of their musical world. Currently, Battlelore has been on an open-ended hiatus since their last album was released in 2011, but that doesnt mean you cant enjoy their past material while waiting for something new.
