Some new friends are discussing Woodstock, as we just had the 46th anniversary. So I thought Id share some pictures from the book by Lisa Law, Flashing on the Sixties. I still love the Sangre de Cristos mountains with all my heart. Dennis Hopper, Hugh Romney (aka Wavy Gravy) Yogi Bhajan and Pigasus are amongst the photos here. See that pitched tin roof adobe in the background there? Thats the house my family and I lived in for nearly 4 years. We had a wood cookstove just like the one depicted in this album. The little girls in a playpen were my friends, the Hernandez family, and the pig, Pigasus was mockingly run for president in 1968. During the winters of our living there, she used to try to eat me while I was feeding the chickens. The picture of the big house I think is the same house the Hernandez family lived in. That was in Ojosarco and the annual baseball game/pie eating contests were held there. The picture of many buses in a row was from the other annual baseball game picnic extraganza held in Aspen Meadows. And of course the Road Hog. I got to play on that bus more than once. Some I doubled and some are blurry. Maybe I can make improvements later. Someday, it will all be in the book. Enjoy!
