Some new gTLDs are struggling .christmas and .blackfriday have had slow beginnings and have acquired fewer than 500 registrations on the first day of general availability. .christmas only had 501 names registered and .blackfriday had 445 overall. The names in association to these two gTLDs all have to do with shopping, retail, and travel as aspected. These names are the first gTLDs to have been released in terms of calendar holidays that are coming up this year. Due to the fact that it will be hard for the brands to see some real traffic and targeted audiences for the up coming holidays on these gTLDs they are reluctant to buy them. This being said it will be hard to build up any particular amount of buzz for these gTLDs. Hopefully this will all change once the holiday season comes closer.
