The State of North Carolina was represented by Assistant District Attorney Craig A. Slagle and the defendant was represented by Richard Costanza of the Moore County Bar. The charges were a result of investigations into residential break-ins that occurred in Aberdeen, Pinebluff and Taylortown. With assistance from the Pinehurst police department, law enforcement officers executed multiple search warrants at the defendant’s residences and recovered a cache of stolen items. Senior Resident Superior Court Judge James M. Webb sentenced the defendant to an active term of imprisonment of sixty seven months minimum to ninety three months maximum in the North Carolina Department of Corrections. In the second case, Sabrina Shantel Dowd of Cameron, North Carolina, pled guilty to felony voter registration fraud, one count of felony breaking and entering and one count of felony possession of stolen goods. The State of North Carolina was represented by Assistant District Attorney Craig A. Slagle and the defendant was represented by Matthew Rothbeind of the Moore County Bar. The charges stemmed from an investigation into the defendant’s voting in the 2012 general election when she was prohibited by law from voting and a break-in that occurred at the Shell convenience mart in Vass. Senior Resident Superior Court Judge James M. Webb sentenced the defendant to an active term of imprisonment of eight months minimum to nineteen months maximum in the North Carolina Department of Corrections.
