Some of my fbians must be from Gujarat and seen numerous results of Industrial developments after having taken away agricultural lands from farmers and given to HADA ( Hazira Area Development Authority) ,27kms from Surat and subsequently distrbuted to Reliance, L&T and Essar groups at very concessional rates with waiving off of Local Taxes, Sales taxes etc. as they were supposed to set up EOU I.e. Export Oriented units in 1984 - 1995, the period Chimbhai Patel of Congress had been one of the Chief Ministers. So called development model , in fact, had beenn initiated by as said above and still being followed at the cost of Interests of the Farmers.
