Some of my guest dogs have boarded with me since theyve been puppies, and that was the case with Bonsai. From the age of 6 months to just recently, he was a regular guest at my house. He loved nothing better than to follow me around the yard doing chores and coming behind me and sticking his head under my arm to nudge it for a ear rub. A big guy, he had the routine down here, and loved playing with my girls until his arthritis got too bad. As a senior, he preferred to spend his time inside....no patience for those busy youngsters. About 3 weeks ago he bloated and torsioned, and successfully went through surgery. He was doing very well and making nice progress. Then yesterday, when the family was taking him on a very short prescribed walk during the evening, he simply collapsed and died. Rest in peace, Mr B. Ill miss your head nudges but I know your family will miss you even more.
