Some of the CIAs operations really would be genius if it werent for their callous inhumanity. When the CIA overthrew Mohammed Mossadegh in Iran in 1953, they paid gangs of people to run through the streets of Tehran and smash up shops and things like that. But they even hired a second set of mobs to attack the first set; the idea was that this would create the impression that Tehran had fallen into complete chaos, and that Mossadegh was unable to control his country; and the funny thing is, none of the groups even knew they were working for the CIA, even though they all were.
