Some of you know Ive been feeling more unwell than usual believing I was anaemic again. Im weak, cant walk 10 paces to the bathroom without being breathless & feeling my heart banging in my chest & last night I had a bad turn & almost fainted. Even standing at the sink the colour drains from my face which Kim & Julie recently witnessed so as much as I hate having to go into hospital I knew that time was approaching! On Monday someone came out to take blood but she couldnt get any as my veins are hard to find at the best of times let alone when Im low on iron, something to do with over 100 hospital admissions & industrial doses of IV antibiotics since 1982 me thinks. She came again today but an hour before I held a hot water bottle & it seemed to work as she got a good amount thank god from a tiny vein on my finger knuckle of all places! The result is my level is low at 8.3 & the normal range for a woman should be 12-16! I need a transfusion & my consultant has set the wheels in motion for me to be admitted to Barnet General hospital by Monday if they can but should I faint again I need to go to A&E. To be honest Im relieved & happy to go in as I know I will feel heaps better after it. Sometimes Im my own worse enemy & I think Im super bloody woman & should have sorted this weeks ago but burying my head in the sand thinking it would right its self was bloody stupid! Hopefully I will only be in for a few days for a few tests as well. I will keep you posted if I can. Thanks to Lennie Pelich, Katie Hill Bell, Mary Shweid, Cathy Porter, Jan Causton & Linda Ewart ( AKA The old Biddies!) for kicking me up the arse this last few weeks to get the help I needed....you guys are amazing!
