Some of you may have read about lovely Leelou, who has been in the news recently, as we have been battling to save the lives of her new born kittens. When she arrived at Church Knowle, Leelou was pregnant and she kept us on the edge of our seats while we waited the arrival of her litter. Then, finally, Leelou gave birth to six tiny ginger and ginger and white kittens. It was soon after their birth that we realised there was a serious problem. Leelou only has three teats so feeding six new born kittens was an extremely difficult task. Without our help, the future of the kittens would have been very bleak indeed. We began hand feeding each kitten every few hours throughout the day and night. It was exhausting for both our staff and Leelou, who is an incredible mum. We are very sad to report that one of the kittens did not make it through the first few crucial days. Keep following Leelou’s story on our Facebook page, as we will post regular updates.
