Some of you may not be aware, but I have been a Type 1 Diabetic - TopicsExpress

Some of you may not be aware, but I have been a Type 1 Diabetic for over 31 years, I have had my ups (blood sugars over 1500) and my downs (a blood sugar of 19 recorded), I have had over 24000 shots of all kinds (not just Jager) I wore a pump for a while too (they dont work well with my wardrobe), I watched multiple people in school be diagnosed (one being Vince ), and some from school that now have type 1 children ( Rachel) I have met plenty of other awesome diabetics ( Kelly, Detra just to name two) and an even cooler doc (what up, Abe) that know that I am here to be me, not diabetic me. I lost my father at the age of 14 to the disease that I work with each day, and seem to be in a better state than he was at my age. Ive been a missing person for 8 hours before (thank you Brian for ur cooperation on that day to help find me). I have chosen to never give birth to a child of my own (thanks Steel Magnolia movie) but have a boy that calls me his evil step mom (loves to ya, Ashton), my mom helped get me here too (thanks & ♡ Kathy) & I have a very VERY patient and dedicated husband (♥ya Jason) which all have helped me in celebrating of National Diabetes Day by knowing just a little more about the disease then the average person (and no i am not having a reaction). Even if you werent mentioned, do know I thank you for the support over the years. Hug your local diabetic today and thank a local Wilford Brimley if u can.
