Some of you may not know...but my husband and I are pregnant with a girl, so I started working on a babies room. I always have admired the French look, so I am going after that style for her room. We had two existing french provincial beds in our down stairs basement, that I had to house somewhere in the house....... so I bought a trundle and hid one of the twin beds under another. Along the way, I realized that the twin mattress was a bit too small...after pairing the twin headboards together.... but after laying in the bed, I want to be able to have my legs extended without hitting into the board, if you know what I mean. This weekend I upholstered a King size headboard, and after placing it behind the bed, I realized it would look best to shorten the rails. Although like I mentioned, I want to be able to sleep in the bed with room for my legs. So hopefully with the canopy and drapes it might hide the gap you see..... I wanted to share pictures of the progress of the room. It is coming along. The room is going to be around shades of lilac... with pops of bright orange, and other colors in the accessories. Little by little it is coming together. Now for the canopy!
