Some of you may not know who is Arthur Baker, but I do. He turned out so many new wave club, dance & hip-hop hits for alot of black and white artists and even did remixes back in the 80s and the 90s. Arthur is a native from Boston, Massachusetts whos a dj and a music producer and still is today in this new millennium age. He has werked for various record labels, including hip-hop label Tommy Boy, which us older generation should be familiar with. He even formed his own label called Street Wise. The list of artists he werked with are too many to mention. Im going to name a few that was more famously known. And to my black people, Arthur signed the group New Edition to his label Street Wise and produced their hit Candy Girl. He missed out signing The Beastie Boys who went and got signed to Russell Simmons hip-hop label Def Jam. He also contributed a track called Breakers Revenge to the 1984 movie and soundtrack Beat Street, which he also helped produce.
