Some of you might be aware of the police occupation of Ferguson Missouri. This seems to be largely dependent on whether or not you use the internet as your primary source of news, because most television outlets arent covering it. If you ARE paying attention, youll notice that Missouris governor, Jay Nixon, doesnt seem to be doing much in response to Fergusons occupation. But theres a perfectly good reason for that. See, Governor Nixon has to go to sleep early tonight, even as Ferguson is blanketed with rubber bullets and clouds of tear gas, because he has to deliver the keynote speech AT TOMORROW MORNINGS HAM BREAKFAST AND BACON AUCTION, LIVE FROM THE MISSOURI STATE FAIR! And thats not all, he has to watch over the proceedings at THE FIRST LADYS OFFICIAL PIE-EATING CONTEST, which starts promptly after the bacon auction! See? Perfectly reasonable explanation. Itd be a shame if any uninviteds showed up to breakfast for a little chat about whats going on in Ferguson... THIS JUST IN: At 10:45pm, the governor sadly CANCELED his appearances at the Ham Breakfast, Bacon Auction, and Pie-Eating Contest. Apparently theres just too much nothing for him to do tonight.
