Some people claim that their work takes up all their time and they are too busy to even look after themselves. Excluding extreme economic hardship, there are two possible causes- 1. Their primary and almost only identity is their work so they fear staying away from it like a fish is scared to stay away from water. 2. They are a con job at work and nobody will notice if they are absent or even worse, workplace will become more efficient without them. So they need to be in everything just to keep employment. They never take day off.
