Some people determine the duration of life according to the number of years. They say: he had a long innings and then forget that it is not the duration of the innings that counts but the number of runs he made. It is the content of a life that determines whether it is long or short. A long life, filled with love, godliness and love for your neighbour can be very long in the eyes of God. Sometimes a promising life is snuffed out like a candle flame by God and u wonder why God allows it. Just remember, God never makes mistakes. We are bound by time and a concept of worldly promises. God, however is omniscient, He knows whether a task has been completed on earth and whether a life can be promoted to a higher service. Our consolation and comfort are that amidst our changing and uncertain lives God remains unchangeably the same. Do not judge the value of a life according to the duration, but according to what was achieved by that life through the power and mercy of God.
