Some people just dont get it. They are stuck in control. They have a idea of leadership that has to have a controller and those controlled. Jesus clearly taught submission based on relationship, honor and respect. It is true many dont make progress because they wont listen to anyone. Yet scripture is clear that we dont just submit to everyone. Growth is often uncomfortable. It takes stretching and pursuit. We must get connected, challenged, encouraged and loved. A mature believer will have mature fruit of the spirit. This is character, the heart of the Christian filled with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Dont be fooled by gifts alone. The combination breeds maturity and community. Without the balance we are left with signs and no depth. Let us press on to a more excellent way!
