Some people not many thank the Lord above are just cold and spiteful, selfish and heartless. Compassion and empathy for the needs of their fellow man are less than an after thought or completely unknown to them. They have political ideals and fiscal numbers they think should exist and that is the end of it. I am not one of those people and because of it in the eyes of some conservatives I am part of the left, part of Obamas bunch, indeed part of the problem. I am a proud unapologetic Christian and conservative, so the world to me is far more than just dollars to be cut and numbers to be crunched to a conservative fiscal endgame. I know there is waste and abuse and it can and should be cleaned up! By all means lets get to work on it, but not at the cost of anyone going hungry and struggling to pay for food. Im personally glad my tax dollars go to keep a little one or an elderly person living alone or a person working all they can but still not having enough to eat from feeling hunger pains, it breaks my heart to think about it even happening, and I feel a great swell of pity for anyone who cannot feel the same! I have received food stamps because I had little more than a few dollars after my monthly expenses barely enough to eat lightly for a week. I have stood in line at food pantries because I have not had enough and I have collected for and worked in food pantries and have witnessed the pain and the shame in the eyes of those who needed help as I handed them a box of food. I have my ideals and I stick to them, but so help me God, not at the cost of my humanity. There is a way to save money in government and to help every person who needs, we just dont have anyone to rise up thats capable or willing to do both. (J)
