Some people show their gratitude to the soldiers not truly knowing what soldiers endure. I am not claiming to know how they feel or what it must be like. This song gave me more of an appreciation because I used to just thank them for being willing do defend and die for our country and us, but now I thank them for more than that. They sacrifice everything; their families, friends, time, their lives and their self acceptance. War has a tendency to change people and for those who arent changed, a scar is left. A constant reminder of the things they have done and seen. So I say thank you and I am sorry that you had to sacrifice so much. It is appreciated and you did well, regardless of your guilt and pain. You did the best you could in a bad situation and that is much more than we are doing; cooped up in our homes, defending our reputations and climbing the virtual social latter. You are still heros.
