Some pictures from the Small World Initiative exhibit at the United Nations 65th DPI NGO Conference. For 3 days, we educated folks about the antibiotic crisis, with the goal of putting antibiotic resistance on the new Millennium Development Goals, and we had an amazing panel led by leaders in pharma, medicine, and health policy (I’ll share the video to the panel as soon as it’s released). The conference participants were fascinated by our research, and many of them were able to do some research activities themselves, such as extracting dyes from soil and starting cultures on site. Again and again, we see that when we make science interactive, people of all ages have fun with it and start asking amazing questions, which is what drives research! The exhibit team was lead by Eric Patridge, a chemist and Small World Initiative collaborator at Yale’s Center for Molecular Discovery, and was made possible by the Institute for Life Sciences Collaborations (ILSC) and the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA).
