Some posts just provoke you to get into things that you ordinarily will ignore. A very very tiny weeny group of young men in Tamale, funded and goaded on by ntional political parties, take the law into their hands and misbehave. And instead of our so-called cognoscente (whatever the plural is...) seeing this as a law and order issue and another example of how the state is failing us, jump on the bandwagon of a so-called northern elite abandoning their people and living the good life in Accra. How can you blithely group 3 disparate regions and dozens of ethnic groups that do not even speak each others languages into one monolithic group and say those people are like that? Chiefs have been murdered in towns across southern Ghana, the latest being the news item in todays Graphic and yet nobody is talking of a so-called southern elite shirking their responsibilities. They instead called on the security agencies to do their work! And you take umbrage when someone in Europe thinks all Africans are involved in the mayhem in the CAR or South Sudan. Dont bring yourself! I pay my taxes and I expect the state to fulfill its obligations to me, my family and my community.
