Some scientists believe that rising temperatures will lead to more - TopicsExpress

Some scientists believe that rising temperatures will lead to more extreme weather worldwide, including stronger and more frequent cyclones in the Bay of Bengal. And rising seas will make any storm more dangerous because flooding will become more likely. SOME scientists? Really ? ? ? SOME ? ? Try Most if not ALL credible scientists. The N Y Times really needs to get its act together. They wonder why they are becoming irrelevant. I would like to see some planning for moving people out of New Orleans, San Francisco, New York, Breezy Point, Galveston, and all the other places along the way. Key West for instance is as much at risk as the Maldives, but we hear nothing of this. Bangladesh has built over 2,500 concrete storm shelters. The highest point on Key West is a one acre hill called Solaris and it is but 18 above sea level. How many storm shelters are built there? I am torn. I will be here perhaps another 15 to 20 years if I am very lucky (?). Last year, the C.I.A. Fact Book puts out life expectancy in the U.S. at 79.8 years. That gives me roughly 7 or 8 more years. I would like to see plans to move these people around the U.S. On the other hand, it would be easier to leave Annie in Breezy Point and my friends the Edens in Key West go on living as if nothing will change. The upheaval will be stomach churning. Would it even be orderly if plans were in place? Good question but it doesnt matter for there are no plans for Breezy Point, Key West, the Maldives, or Bangladesh.
