Some time back I posted about an epic motorcycle journey from London to New York, and I mean traveling east. Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman making not only a heck of a trip but facing all sorts of difficulties, esp making their way through Siberia, etc. A few years later they made another trip, this time from the north of Scotland to Capetown South Africa. I figured this would be deriviative and not add much to the previous trip and put off watching it. I could not have been more wrong. Long Way Down is far more interesting because.... Africa. A great deal more humanitarian content, the diverse cultures that they encounter, not to mention wildlife ... Gorillas and Rhinos and Monkeys and on and on. Some of the past horrors that went on were addressed along with the healing that followed, along with the work that organizations such as Unicef are doing. So, I give it two thumbs up! On IMDB it is rated an impressive and well deserved 8.4. Ten 1hr episodes and you will be sorry when its over. Its available on Netflix streaming or DVD and no doubt other sources.
