Some time shortly after 9/11 I was ridding with a bunch of college friends in a car on our way to a party. We were listening to the radio. Rockin out and getting ready for a night of craziness. This song came on the radio... And we all went silent. By the time it was over tears were streaming down my cheeks and I noticed that a few of my buddies were crying as well. After a long silence one friend attempts to break the silence and we awkwardly tried to resume our night. That moment has stuck with me every since. Ive never been able to get the image of the father calling his family to tell them hes not coming home out of my mind. Regardless of your faith or spiritual position I think we can all feel a sense of hope that those who lost their life that day found some peace before the end. Its those left behind that I chose to remember on this day. All politics aside I still grieve for the mothers, wives, children, fathers, mothers and siblings that lost someone they can never get back in this life.
