My friend Ali Abunimah makes the great point that the issue is not the presence of Jewish people in Palestine, the issue is the Zionist effort to displace the non-Jewish people of Palestine, an effort that continues today. Based on the Jewish morality I learned, expelling peaceful non-Jewish families from their homes, whole villages of men, women and children, hundreds of thousands of people, is clearly wrong. The idea of bringing our non-Jewish brothers and sisters back to their homes to live in peace together is clearly the path of justice and peace for all concerned.
