Some wise words of advice I received once are these: Decide what kind of life you want to have and then orient everything else around that. Not the other way around. Dont decide what you want to be when you grow up and then orient your whole life around that. Decide what is most important to you in life and center your life there. Everything else just distracts from what is most important. If it truly is your career, that is fine, but consider your family, friends, life experiences, quality time, traveling, happiness, fulfillment, etc. I am willing to bet your career means a lot to you, but I bet it isnt the most important thing in your life. Remember our friend John Lennon said, When I was five years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down happy. They told me I didnt understand the assignment, and I told them they didnt understand life.
