Somebody wrote a comment in response to a piece by Owen Jones on right-wing bias at the BBC, which I thought had relevance to how this community was treated by the BBC, among others, in the Wessely-led smear campaign of Summer 2011. Others have rightly pointed out its not JUST an issue of left versus right but the seam of establishment authoritarianism at the BBC that is in evidence. Applied to what happened in 2011, I would agree (I dont want to get into a left versus right discussion necessarily because I dont think its productive for us all here). Ill place the comment here, and the link to Jones article below: Its all merely that tiresome Machiavellian gambit of making sure that you loudly accuse your enemies of your own crimes because their denial will sound like guilt and will frame them as being under suspicion.
