Someone Like Me received its 132nd five-star review today...let me share a portion of this incredible write-up with you here: As a person whom has lived life with cerebral palsy (a mixed type, not unlike Johns) I am biased in my love for this book. I could truly understand and relate to that aspect of his life but this is so much more than a book about ...triumph over cerebral palsy. To believe this is a book about disability would be one dimensional and to pass this book over thinking of it only as a recounting of a mans career in the military would still be a mistake. Tragedy strikes the Quinn family, hard times are to be had, and this too, shapes the wonderful tale John tells. Someone Like Me is a book about courage, determination, strength, love, finding a place to belong and learning that there is always hope and that a person is never alone.
