Someone commented on one of my videos today, and the comment stuck - TopicsExpress

Someone commented on one of my videos today, and the comment stuck in my craw so to speak. I know that he hasnt got access to this facebook account and that he cant see this post but, I feel like its necessary to make it, if only for my own sake. The comment was on one of my recent Blood Omen 2 videos and it was telling me that I need to stick with what is popular if I want to make it on YouTube, specifically to make lots and lots of Garrys Mod videos (Prop Hunt, Trouble In Terrorist Town, random G-Mod videos, things like that). I replied to him and said the only thing that I could: I did not want to see my channel become a Hey, this is popular, lets do this! channel. I especially didnt want to be caught in the situation of YouTuber Seananners. Dont get me wrong, I love Seananners and I think that he is hilarious. He makes primarily Garrys Mod videos but, he has tried to start up Lets Plays several times. Every one of his Garrys Mod videos get millions of views but, each of his Lets Plays gets only a couple hundred thousand at best. The only thing that changes in these Lets Plays is that he isnt surrounded by other people. Its just him, the game, and the audience. Hes still nice, hes still funny, and hes still just having a good time. Yet no one wants to see that simply because its, Not what he does. I do NOT want that to happen to my channel, where I get stuck playing one game over and over simply because everyone demands that I do so. I made the channel for many reasons, and I have added more things for the channel to become as I have learned and changed with time. I made the channel because it is the best way that I see to make a living. I love the work, I love the people, and it is something that I can genuinely be proud of. That feeling of pride is something I have lacked in everything I have ever done, even in my own life as a whole, and now that I feel it I wont let it go. I made the channel to make people laugh, to bring smiles to those that are in need of them. The world has so much pain in it and I know that only too well through my friends and myself. All of us are hurting in some way, some more than others and some are going through, or have gone through, troubles that I wouldnt even know how to cope with. They inspire me to want to make them and others laugh, and I am so proud of every one of my friends. I see the state of gaming today, with the most popular games being nothing but the same shoveled crap over and over again, and I thought that maybe I could show people how good the games were a few short years ago. Maybe I could show people what made a good game good and so help the world of gaming. First and foremost, however, I made this channel so that I could have something in my life worth doing. This channel is mine, and I will not be told what to make just to, Get popular or Make a living. Im happy to take suggestions but, I will not have my dream polluted by a desire for quick success. Is my channel amazing and full of gut bursting comedy? No, not yet. Is it full of witty jokes and good advice? No, not yet. But it will be. I will continue to pour all of my blood, sweat and tears into this channel, and it will continue to be something that I can be proud of. With all of that, check out my channel. Watch some of my videos and think about something while you do: They may not be amazing quality. The picture may be lower quality than the major channels, the sound may not be the best, I may have made a mistake here and there. But god damnit, I worked on them. I worked on each one for hours, both in the recording and in the editing. They continue to get better, and so do I. I poured love into those videos, and I continue to pour love into them. https://youtube/channel/UCpi4yZJALCvNtfPTCdpdE7A
