Someone just bought stuff from Nordstrom in Irvine with my ATM info. I called that Nordstrom and said at 1:36 pm (10 minutes ago) someone used stolen information to buy $264 worth of merchandise GO LOOK AT YOUR SECURITY CAMERAS. They said its against corporate policy to look into it without local police authority. I told them Im getting my money back, someone stole your stuff, you would stop someone at the store if that happened! They say its not the same thing. So I called Irvine PD, tell them same thing (by that time 20 minutes has passed) they say I need to file a report to my local police (LAPD? Would they really give a shit?) and it would be forwarded back to them. And I asked to get some police and go to the Nordstrom to give authority to look at security cameras, because that person might very well still be there! OK but its a very big outdoor shopping mall DUDE I DONT GIVE A SHIT! GO CATCH THE BAD GUY. But they tell me that theyll go look at the security footage to see if local police on patrol will recognize them later, otherwise file a report with LAPD for further investigation. Faith in humanity destroyed.
