Someone out there probably has already done the research for me, so dump it on here... If churches across America right now decided to wave tax brakes to sever government ties, how would that work? what kind of organization would they become? Churches tends to give away most of their income, how would that factor into their tax status (would it actually make it more viable for churches to start giving out MORE since it would provide exemption brakes)? What affect would doing so practically have on freedom of religious practice (positive or negative or none)? I have some thoughts, but numbers and pretty graphics would be nice...
