Someone wrote on my status yesterday that he wonders if Eric Frein is still in the area or has gone to who knows where. Thats a good question. The police say they are very sure he is still in the area. They dont say how they arrive at that conclusion. We do know that not far from the barracks that the shooting occurred at and not long after it occurred, Freins Jeep was found stuck in a retention pond. This Jeeps contents pretty much said Frein was the perpetrator. I assume there have been no reports of a stolen automobile since the shooting which probably means he is on foot. He could have taken public transportation shortly after the incident and before his picture was widely circulated but I would think a bus driver or a cab driver would remember him by now after seeing his picture. The police think he still has the AK-47 that he shot the officers with and since nobody knows what he is wearing, such as a coat that he could possibly conceal the rifle under while riding in a bus or cab. As far as walking goes, hes now had almost a full week to walk somewhere. If he walked north, he could easily be somewhere in New York State where if he gets into the Adirondacks or the Catskill Mountains, hell be hard to find. Nothing short of a positive sighting will prove that he is still in the area. Until it is proved that he is elsewhere, due caution and alertness is the way to go here.
