Something I feel a great need to share…. is my Boom Festival - TopicsExpress

Something I feel a great need to share…. is my Boom Festival transformational journey. In 2008 I attended my first Boom.. and well it blew my mind, opened my world and exposed me to things I had never seen or could have ever imagined. In 8 days, I transformed. I felt inspired, energised and ready to take my art and talent into new territories. That year I was mostly inspired by the Art gallery. My first Psychedelic Art gallery encounter. The first night I walked in, the first thing I saw was Luke Brown in person painting live… an artist I had been following on the internet and whos art in general blew me away. An artist I admire. What a moment…. and from there I wandered though the gallery, feeling like this was my place. I returned to that space every day, and it inspired me more and more to follow this path. Visionary art. In Boom 2010 I was invited to exhibit in the gallery. *dream come true* By this stage in my career, doing decor for psy events had taken off, and was consuming all my time. So unfortunately I had little time to give this dream opportunity. Regardless I spent about 1 month painting a 2mx2m cloth painting for the Gallery. It was a very intense personal journey, putting so many hours into this one little painting, whilst having to make decor for many events at the same time. To top it off, that same year I was invited to decorate the AfterBoom. So Boom 2010 saw myself working and exhibiting in the gallery and decorating the after party. I spent quality time with many visionary art experts to realise, that what I was actually doing by decorating large scale events, was exhibiting to a few thousand people every weekend, and actually thats where I belong. So I left Boom 2010 feeling like I could achieve more, do more, had more to give…and quietly asked the universe I want to do something on the dance floor next time Boom 2012- the flying serpents. Another amazing transformational experience just in creating those amazing creatures. Teaming up with home based friend and co worker Daniel Popper, turned into this revolutionary breakthrough in decor. This was the first time I had a 3D canvas to paint on, to paint however I please and to the best of my abilities in a very short time!! pressure + freedom = success! Wow, mind blowing and life changing. Next level was achieved. Now its 2014, and Im the main Dance Temple decorator. Spending 6 weeks onsite production with my SA crew. Wow. No words. Let the next transformation begin :)
