Something I was told really made my day/night and sums up exactly one of my goals and I really need to share. One of the kids from the school visit this morning is a huge superhero fan. However he always said he couldnt be his favorite one, Batman, because he was brown skinned. When the little boy saw me today apparently he lost it. He was so happy. After I left the only thing he talked about was how Batman was brown like him. Now he can be Batman too. That to me is so awesome! People say do what you want. You dont need to please others when it comes to costuming. Thats true, I dont need to please people but I do want to inspire them! Some people need that inspiration. Some people need that little extra encouragement. Theres such an incredible opportunity to break down barriers and stereotypes. Showing you dont need to look a certain way. You dont need to be a certain size. You dont need to be a certain gender. You dont need to have artistic skills. All you need is the love and willingness to have fun.
