~~~~~~~~~~~Something To Think About~~~~~~~~~~~ A joyful heart is good medicine, but depression drains one’s strength. (Proverbs 17:22 GWT) ~~~~~~~~~~Laughter Is Good Medicine~~~~~~~~~~~ I was thinking how sad it is that we have lost two incredibly talented comedians recently, Robin Williams a few weeks ago and Joan Rivers yesterday. Both of them brought so much joy to so many through their God given gifts of ministering laughter. Most of us don’t give laughter a lot of thought, but it truly is a gift from God and it carries great healing properties. Science has proven what God said in Proverbs 17:22 that a “joyful heart is good medicine”. For example, laughter relaxes the body by relieving stress and tension and a good belly laugh can have positive results for almost an hour afterwards. Ive heard it called internal jogging. Laughter boosts the immune system and fights off disease. Laughter can also relieve pain through releasing various hormones in your body. Most importantly, laughter protects the heart by improving blood flow and can ward off cardiovascular disease. Is it any wonder then that Psalms 28:7 tells us the joy of the Lord is our strength? You can now see why the enemy works so hard to bring us down and depress us. He knows if he can steal your joy and laughter, he can drain your strength. Don’t let him do it! Laugh, laugh and then laugh some more. You can do just what the Word says God does in Psalms 37:12-13. It says, “The wicked plots against the righteous and gnashes at him with his teeth. The Lord laughs at him, For He sees his day is coming.” No matter what you are up against today, look at it and laugh! You will feel better and stronger and your heart will be infused with the joy of the Lord and that is good medicine for whatever the ailment might be! It’s all about Him, our joy and our strength, Jesus! Love & Blessings, Missy ;)
