Something for Pearl Harbor day. This is my father-in-law Dick - TopicsExpress

Something for Pearl Harbor day. This is my father-in-law Dick Hans and his good buddy, Pat Mockler, right after they got out of the Navy after WWII. Dick was on the USS Phoenix at Pearl Harbor. One of only 2 ships to sail out of that harbor on Dec 7th, 1941. If the attack would have been 10 minutes later, Dick would have been on the stern of the USS Arizona recieving Catholic mass and died with their crew. Dick ordered this Harley Davidson while the war was still going on and picked it up as soon as he got out. It was the 2nd Harley to come off the line after WWII ended. Here they are in Fordyce, NE making a living Hunting coyotes from the back of the mighty Harley! You can imagine the stories Dick used to tell about racing that Harley across the sage brush fields, then throwing it down as they jumped off and shot their rifles, LOL! He was a great guy and I really miss his wonderful sense of humor.
